Songs with Dance in the Title from '70s and '80s

This fun mix of songs from the 70’s and 80’s will get you moving! Each tune contains a form of the word “dance” in the title.

70s and 80s "dance" songs

Grab your cassettes, it’s time for a little fun!

I love music. And one of the reasons that I do, is because it can easily change my mood. Something upbeat will always motivate me to get up and get moving.

The playlist I have put together today is all about “dance”. Each song is from the 1970’s or 1980’s and contains the word DANCE (or a form of it) in the title.

Do you remember all the different dances from that era? I will admit to being a bit preferential to the dances of the 70’s. I could do the Bus Stop like nobody’s business. I was also a big Saturday Night Fever fan…and I’d still have my autographed John Travolta poster hanging up on the wall, if I had any idea where it was!

The 70’s gave us these iconic dances:

  • The Hustle
  • The Bump
  • The Bus Stop
  • The Robot
  • The Disco Finger

The 80’s had a completely different style of dance moves. I can still kinda sorta do The Moonwalk, but I’m afraid I would never be able to get up if I tried to Breakdance!

The 80’s brand of dances include:

  • The Moonwalk
  • The Electric Slide
  • Breakdancing
  • The Cabbage Patch
  • The Worm

I usually like listening to this mix while I’m working out. Maybe you will, too. I’m not sure any of the songs on my playlist will make you feel like doing The Bump or The Worm, but hey, you never know!

Save my playlist to your Spotify app and take it with you the next time you need a little music motivation. You can download the app for free here.

Can you think of any other songs from the 70’s or 80’s that have DANCE in the title? Leave a comment and let me know!
